I am shocked they are covering that. For quite a while a few years ago, there was a major battle going on I think between two cartels. I think the Mexican Marines were in there also, but none of that ever made it to US news, to the best of my knowledge. There were some internet groups that posted videos of what was going on down there. That deal was also right across the border.

I guess Abbott is using it to justify him sending Texas Guard and DPS to the boarder. We really need someone in the Whitehouse with balls, that will send troops across the border and squash the cartels, while giving Mexico a pair of big middle fingers. I realize that most likely will never happen, but it would be the beginning of the fix for the Mexico and drug problem. We have the military power, weapons and know how, just too many politicians involved in military operations, greatly reducing their effectiveness. In the long run costs us a lot more money, by dragging out battles and wars, and a lot more US solder lives.
