Man if someone is willing to move to Houston for a good private school trying to escape dumb politics then they need their head checked.

There is no guarantee that your kids will get into any of these schools. Just because you can afford 10-20 thousand a year, they still test for them to get in. We have friends, and our kids that went to all of these schools, and all of them have graduated college, a few in the military and two in trades. The ones in the trades are making more money...

The MOST important thing you can do for your kids education is to be an involved parent. Poor schools with involved parents produce great students.

Politics are an issue everywhere you go. Even in Christian based education. Know who your kids are hanging out with, and those kids parents.

In my personal experience, a child that grows up in a diverse environment will grow to be able to make their own political decisions.

It just depends on what you're looking for. No school is perfect and they certainly aren't cheap, well worth your time to go through multiple interviews.

Best I can do for ya.
Just for clarification, there is one on Woodway, a blended university model in the Memorial area and we're kicking off at the Katy location later next year as well as Fulshear in the Fall of '23. There is not an affiliated school located in College Station. You can visit secondbaptistschool.org for info

I have a niece that went k-12 and my two boys are attending Grace Community School here in Tyler. It is a very challenging school academically. They focus on teaching Jesus and showing his love! I've never seen another football team where one team's players help their opponents up of the turf more than I've seen with Grace teams over the years. Grace doesn't recruit talent, but they usually have competitive teams in sports too.

              Check them out at

All good choices (along with Lutheran South) and Fort Bend Christian Academy (my boys went to HS at FBCA)

"IF" you land in Houston - these are all good options...more about where you live in the large city imho. Ditto with other major cities, like Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. My boys are 5 and 7. We have a great Christian school here which is why we want to find something comparable. We aren't set on any particular place so I will look into all the suggestions above.

CO ain't what it used to be for sure so we're looking for a change.
Ideally, we'd like to have some acreage outside of town. I run a cow/calf operation up here and I couldn't imagine moving back into town again.

You'd be right in the middle of good hunting country too if you can find a lease.

I know of a vacant lot in town that might be for sale at the right price.

Curious when your kids went through FBCA. My other son graduated in 09 when it was FBBA.

If in the greater Dallas area and your kids have excellent academics-Dallas Jesuit and St. Marks, both are ultra competitive for entrance. Jesuit is a fantastic program. One of mine graduated from there and the alumni network is cult like, lol.

Definitely not ESD, Parish Episcopal is good, but not great.

Argyle Liberty is a great school, has a few problems with being a dumping ground for problem kids with wealthy parents. Overall, is solid academically, made a few changes the couple of years that hopefully will keep the parents in check. Should parents be involved, yes, that's why you have a board. A vocal minority should not be allowed to make athletic staff changes that resulted in a a clown show.

Mid Cities- CCA, outstanding academics, small and little to no technology offered or allowed. FWC and Faith, mediocre academics at best.

FTW-several, but Country Day leads the pack academically, athletically not so much.

John Cooper in the Woodlands. Like paying college tuition for kindergarden but the kids that come out of there are ready.

Surprised no one has mentioned Prestonwood for DFW. Have several adult friends that went there and they all speak highly of it.

We toured it this morning and was watching to see if there was any feedback on PCA.
