I have a wood duck roost at my place and have taken out some people to get their trophy wood ducks. It would be a morning and then evening hunt if we don't get the trophy in the morning. Obviously this would be for next season but looking to trade hunt for hunt. I am out near Paris, TX. Message me any hunt trade ideas

Obviously I’m not a duck hunter. Hopefully someone can actually answer my question

I agree they are very beautiful. To my untrained eye they all look the same. Hence my question. If it’s a dumb question to some of y’all then I apologize. I know almost nothing about ducks.

A trophy to me is a drake with a long crown (thats what we call the part hanging off the back of his head). And good color on his beak. Ive killed a pile of pretty drakes and never mounted one. There is one somewhere that I killed off a flat near lissie thats on someone elses wall thoughOriginally posted by Gumbo Man View PostAC if I can help with your question I would say that a trophy would be a fully plumed adult drake with a full crown on his head as apposed to a juvenile. An adult pair makes for a beautiful mount. And oh by the way that was a very legitimate question that doesn’t take much effort at all to answer.
Thanks guys.
