I switched to the ON nicotine pouches about 2 years ago after 25 years of Cope. It was a very easy transition for me and I'm down to the 2mg strength. They are MUCH cheaper because they always seem to be on sale and are much cleaner as well. Not sure how much safer they are if any but can't be worse. I need to quit them as well and be done with all of it!

I have dipped Copenhagen for about 50 years. I still do. I was prescribed Chantix by my doctor. It worked for me and I quit for almost three years. The problem is, I still wanted a dip every day during the time I quit. That stuff works very well. My weakness finally got the best of me and I started again just because I wanted to. It was my choice to start again and not a physical dependency. Chantix really works but I think you have to really want to quit.

I quit last July after a 19 year habit. Nicotine gum helped when I had a craving but I wanted to quit and it wasn't that hard once I made my mind up. Think of all the reasons you need to quit and let that be what drives you. For me it was my kids getting old enough to ask what that stuff in the can was that I was putting in my lip. Setting a good example for them was all it took for me.

Surprised no one has mentioned this. Cigarettes!!

When I kicked the near 20 yr habit. Trident Cinnamon gum was my friend. I since then started chewing a pack a day of Cinnamon gum. Good news is, you can buy 3 packs for $3-4.

I quit 16 years ago with no alternative. Prior to that I quit several times and always tried to use something to replace it and it never worked.

What worked for me was setting a date to quit and a plan to reduce the amount I used and how often I used it until the last day which I used zero.

At the time my wife was pregnant with our first and a very close family friend was dying of breast cancer. We sat in the row behind her husband and 2 very young daughters at her funeral. I left the funeral and swore I would not put my kids through that by something I was using by choice.
I honestly don't know if I would have ever been able to quit had this scenario not happen at that time in my life.
It's been 16 years and the smell of Copenhagen still makes my mouth water!

When I quit I used a whole clove like you get in the spice section and an altoid.

used to dip Cope when I was really young(9-10 yr old). Wow it was really hot but I liked the bite of it. Nothing else matched it. Glad I never got hooked on it. Haven't touched it since.

Going cold turkey and any sort of gum that lasted more than about 30 min. When You start thinking of all the money you put to tobacco in a year, you start to realize there’s a number of things you could do or have instead of a hundred little empty dip cans.

Dipped Copenhagen for over 30 years, quit several times, one time cold turkey for 2 years, bummed a dip from a friend in South Padre & had my own can the next day, none of the crutches worked. Seeds-made my tongue raw, chewed cigars for a couple years & would always head back to the Copenhagen.
Finally made a promise to myself to never put it in my mouth again. I have kept that promise since 2000 I do go through a pack of EXTRA Polar Ice daily though.
Be sure to ask family & friends for their support, & definitely let coworkers know what you are doing before quitting. THEY NEED TO KNOW WHY YOU ARE BEING A P****

Fresh coffee grounds with just enough whiskey to make it moist. It was better than any store bough mint or other I tried.
