My wife had a total knee done back last summer... She's actually a retired orthopedic nurse and has done hundreds of replacements over a 25 year span at Methodist-Houston... First time for her on the receiving end... I dropped her off at 0600 hours... Couldn't stay because of the Kung Flu crap... Got text updates throughout the process... Within 4 hours after surgery, she was standing on the knee... I picked her up at 1600 hours and brought her home. She walked into the house (with the assistance of a walker) and sat at the dinner table that evening for dinner. I was totally flabbergasted!! She's now 6 months post-op and better than 100% recovered. Her plan was to have the knee done (left side), then after recovery, get the hip done on the right side because of constant pain... Since the knee replacement, she has had zero pain in the hip... She didn't realize just how messed up her walking and moving around was because of the knee... No need now for the hip replacement! Praise the Lord!

Plastic spacer apparently the problem prob made in China (my guess). Doc said get shoulder straight then come back for some talk on direction of treatment , my bet will have to replace the whole ball of wax we'll see. OP should be good as vast majority get many more years out of their knee than mine.

Great video. I had no idea what having a total knee replacement involved. That video show just how complex it is to do! What I've gleaned here and from my friends who've had this is that 1) rehab hurts but you have to do it so medicate for the pain and do the rehab and 2) waiting do do the replacement for years will cause pain/stress on your hips, back and your other knee so so don't wait too long. It took a while to undo my limp from my bad hip after replacement. I rehabbed big time and now play racquetball daily without issue.

I had one done in March of 2018 walked with walker 2h after surgery went home in 24h...Did as instructed first week then 3w therop...and released but be careful and take it easy...for few more weeks...I wanted doc to other asap...couldn't get to it tell May...had it done basically same drill...Sure discomfort but for a few weeks..I only took 4 pain pills with each surg...and then Tylenol the rest of time for discomfort...I had sprained ankles that hurt worse and longer than Knee replacement...Its been 4y and been 100% since...Best thing I ever done...
I had a incumbent bike that i peddled lots from day 3 or so..It seemed to relieve soreness and swelling...
My neighbor had his done at 0700 and was home 60 miles at 1800 same day....similar results a me..
As for Kneeling my dock said its OK on a cushion/pad...without that pad it do feel strange..no pain just diff.
Dr Brian Parsley did all the above...he's the master in my book....Last I knew he's between Sugarland and Loop...

- STATUS UPDATE -
Surgery was April 20th. Doc said the surger took about twice as long as anticipated because of the amount of scar tissue and athritis that was in the knee. I am 1 week out from surgery. Pain was pretty intense on days 3, 4, 5. Monday I seemed to turn a corner and I have only taken pain pills before my PT sessions. I am being very dilligent with PT. It is 3x a week for the next 8 weeks. Ice and elevation are my best friends. I already have more flex and extention in my knee than I did before surgery. The only easy day was yesterday.
