Does anyone know what this is?

My Daughter-in-Law's Dad passed away a couple of years ago and she found this in a box that he left behind. My first thought is that it might be some sort of gunsmithing tool as he was a very active hunter and fisherman. That may be WAY off, though.

It is a cam cleat used in/on sail boats. Guess it could have other uses anywhere you need to keep a line tight.

They work pretty dang good for fastening climbing sticks to boot!

Yep cam cleat, most notably for hunters, found on muddy climbing sticks
