    F-150 with 3.5 Ecoboost mpg ?

Headed down to the lease this weekend. 300 mile one way trip pulling a 16’ utility trailer with a deer stand On it that weighed maybe 500-600 pounds. Got 7 mpg. I’ve pulled with this pickup quite a bit and never noticed it getting that kind of mileage. On the way back with same trailer and a protein feeder it got right at 8 mpg. 2017 with 85,000 miles. Never had any issues with the truck. Is this normal or something I need to look into?

Id say that’s pretty rough, pulling my RV and boat at the same Time we were getting 9.5…

Wind, speed and Terrain make a big difference e though… doing 65 vs 75 is a lot of gas!

I did notice worse considerably mileage when I needed an oil change.

That’s low unless you were doing 90. I just replaced my spark plugs when my mileage went below 17mpg without a trailer. Pulling my 22’ bay boat I usually get 12.

May be the gas or something. My mpg has dropped about 1-2 on my tundra on the hwy and I haven’t done anything.

I was staying around 67-72 mph. I was headed west from Waco to Ozona. So fairly hilly country but nothing to bad. I thought it was kind of low. I have never done anything to the truck other then regular oil changes.

Tires larger than stock? Seven is low but a big deer blind can push a lot of air. My ‘13 towing mileage is 8-10.

I was getting about 9mpg while pulling a 25ft center console from SE Alabama to Destin and back. 2019 fx4, stock size tires, 65mph or so. For sure heavier than your load and I’d think grabs more wind. It was pretty flat though.

I’d drop your speed back a little and see what it goes to. With my 20ft bay boat behind it I’d get about 12 going 70 down the highway.

Do you run fuel cleaner? Cleaned your map sensor lately? Air filter?

I have a 2015 3.5 and after I got a leveling kit and some little bigger than stock mud grip tires, my average MPG is 14.5. Pulling my ranger I probably get less than 10 but I figured that was normal

This ^ plus when I tow a trailer I buy higher octane fuel. Truck seems to run better and I get better mileage. Mine is a 2220.

4x4? Are you trusting what the dash is telling you, or hand calculating it? Single digits seems awfully low to me, I would verify.
