    Thermal Monoculars.

Hoping the green screen can help me out. My dad wants to buy a thermal monocular in a bad way. He doesn’t want to by the wrong one and regret it. He’s researched and researched but is more confused each time. Lol. It will be used for pig hunting in Zavala County. His budget is $2000-$2500. Any input on one’s to stay away from would be great. Thank you.

Stay away from atn. Rattler makes some good budget units. It’s not necessarily a mono but what I would do is really look at a rattler 35-384 and that way you have a handheld and back up/ buddy scope. you could use it to scan, find the pigs, then put it back on your gun and go shoot them. Also pulsar is pretty nice but you pay for the name. Did I mention to stay away from atn?

I use a Taipan TM19 or a TM25 for scanning and am very pleased with both.

The Taipan 25 is what we have and it is great. I can see field mice eating corn at 60 yards.

My dad purchased the iRay Cabin from Legacy outdoors. It's pretty incredible. Thank you all for the recommendations.

Buy a scope not a monocular. Pointless

Then you got an extra buddy scope

nah, my rich buddy has both. it's a lot more convenient to scan with the monocular and locate stuff, then bring up the gun and get on it.
