    Gravity Fed Charcoal/ Grill

Does anyone own a gravity fed charcoal grill/pit? I’m thinking about getting one instead of a pellet grill, any feedback?
    Thanks

Considering the same. Previous searches didn’t yield a lot of info

I have no personal experience with them but we had one as a raffle prize at our Kill it, Chill it, and Grill it Wichita Falls Ducks Unlimited Spring event last year. The guy that won it told me a few months afterwards that he loved it.

Old Country pits offers a pretty cool one, Academy carries it from time to time.

I'm about to buy one. Also going to pick up a blower/controller to make everything a little easier.

youtube and reddit has a wealth of information if you do your research.

I found some reviews, all good.....only downfall was some of the charcoal didn’t get burned, but over all , good reviews
Looking at the Masterbuilt 560 series

I have the Old Country gravity feed smoker. Got it last year. Love it. An 18 lb bag of charcoal will last approximately 18-20 hours. The drawback is the time to get the cook chamber up to temp. But once it's there, it holds steady for a LONG time without much fluctuations. One thing that helps is lighting my chimney and setting it inside the cook chamber helps speed that up. The wood "box" below the charcoal chute is a little small but using smaller chunks of wood is not bad.i mix some small chips or chunks in with the charcoal as well.

One other drawback...It's not the most efficient for small/short smokes. I just bought a Pitboss gas grill/pellet smoker for that. My Gas grill was burned out and needed replaced anyway.

I have the Masterbuilt 1050. I love it and charcoal way cheaper than pellets. Heats up instantly too.
