    GRXH 2022, the recap!

My top ten, and some photos; more to come later on the stories...

    B.A.D.A.S.S.
    10) Hammocks rule, tents drool
    9) Ketchup is food, don't care watcha say
    8) Granger kills boats
    7) I need a new bilge pump, whale tail and full bottom on the Beer Barge (apparently boats aren't supposed to have water inside them?)
    6) Cajuns can cook
    5) Wildman is required to have a buddy after dark (and drunk)
    4) I can weld with a mig as good as you can with a stick
    3) My pellet smoker is just as good as your stick burner
    2) Every one LOVES my playlist
    1) It's my ****ing river!

It was a great time like always!
A few parting shots, then stories...

      Yee Hawg!

Fried fish roe and roasted pig testes (sans the cream filling) are mighty fine sources of protein.

I'll start with my top ten for 2022:

            10. Some come, some go, but the hunt is forever.
            9. Butchering skills come in handy.
            8. Cajuns can indeed cook.
            7. Periodically check the riverbank for your friends.
            6. Remind your friends to change into dry socks before bed.
            5. Twelve is the perfect age for a boy's first GRXH.
            4. Hammocks > tents
            3. 1lb piglets sure are tough to catch in briars.
            2. Rat's EZV sight is pretty slick.

and my number one lesson learned at GRXH2022...

Your chances of shooting a hog sprinting by you at full speed while your pants are around your ankles as you finish crapping in the woods are low...BUT NOT ZERO!

Dang Rat. That river is a real boat killer. One of your welds break, or did you poke a new hole? Mine has three cracks in it. Steering cable froze up and that broke the helm. Got some parts lying around that might work, but I'm thinking I might just buy new. Thinking I'm going to re-coat the bottom again too. Got any suggestions?

                  1. Hammocks > tents
                  2. A hot rock warmed in the fire then dropped into a wool sock and put in your sleeping bag is a god send. Heat for hours. You will think me for reading this later.
                  3. Friday night was 17 F. And the drunkards were howling at coyotes.
                  4. Oyster mushrooms grow on willows during GRXH
                  5. Rat looks like a homeless guy
                  6. You will be picked up on any bank by any boat if you have a dead hog with you.
                  7. If you get in a knife fight with a wounded boar in a creek bottom, stun him with a rock to the head first.
                  8. Stinkbelly makes catching piglets look as if mere mortals can do it. They can't.
                  9. Ketchup is not food, no matter what the homeless man says.
                  10. Shoot 5 feet in front of the pig, not at his lips.

I'm not sure, I haven't crawled under it yet, but something gave way.

Not sure on the bottom coating, but if Teflon is a thing for boats would use that!

I'm looking at two different products. One had Kevlar in it. I'm leaning that way. I'll try and get some pics of mine.

                          10. Going a couple days before GRXH is not the same thing.
                          9. Having to work Friday-Saturday-Sunday SUCKS!
                          8. Hammocks are for real men.
                          7. Stickbows will in fact kill hogs. (refer to the Wudstix double with a longbow a few years back)
                          6. Ketchup is indeed food. Mix enough in water and you have tomato soup.
                          5. Sneaky is exactly that.
                          4. Rat looks rough after five days in camp.
                          3. Really wish I'd have been there.
                          2. Briars, that's all I'll say.
                          1. There's always next year!!!!!!! Wood bows are more than enough, much less weight to carry all day.

You just need a Paintman pig sticker for a hog fight!!!!! Or a Shrew Hawk.
