Is It Time To Sell My Truck And Buy A New One?

Bought my 2020 F250 4X4 KR for $80k. It has 23k miles on it.

I was just looking to see what they are bringing now.

I like the idea of selling my truck right now. I don't like the idea of what it will cost me to buy another one. Unless you have to sell right now, I wouldn't.

Won’t be able to replace it for that .

Haha. Be nice to be a seller if you didn't have to be a buyer too! Kinda like houses. Good time to sell if you don't have to buy a replacement.

Idk, just saw a 2020 f350 for $81k on here with 62k miles

I’ll keep my loaded 2017 Lariat F250, I only paid $49,500 for it with 60k miles 2 years ago, the cost to replace it is just overwhelming to me.

Yeah, if you don’t have to replace the truck absolutely. Pocket that money. If you have to replace it, it makes no sense to me.

I had a buddy bragging to me about how he can get x amount over what he paid for his truck, but wanted to buy a new one that increased significantly too.

This is what I did . Off loaded a loaded titan and got into a frontier just under MSRP

Nope, I cant see it right now, but I've been wrong plenty of times! Family member was called by the dealership and asked if he would sell his truck back to them at 9k more than he paid. He didn't do it, the same vehicle was on back order/ in high demand I guess.

My situation was a little different. I was able to get out of my 2019 F250 SXT for more than I paid for it and upgrade to a higher trim level. I work from home so I am able to wait on the new one. This combined with the Ford private offer, ordering at invoice price, and the equity down payment, I have tons of equity.

Not all situations are the same.

I don’t think it’s worth it to sell high and buy higher. If you’re ok waiting and buying some nice and used, go for it and pocket the money.

Now is the time to sell a truck and buy a car. Otherwise, why sell to buy another at an inflated price?

Do you think there will ever be another time in the future where I could trade a 2 y/o vehicle in on an equal model and only pay $5-$10k more out of pocket?

The prices will never go back to normal on new vehicles. This will be the new, new…
                          Watch and see.

I’m getting rid of my 17 F250. I paid it off in 20 and was planning on keeping it about 8 years but If they are willing to give me close to 60 for a 5 year old truck with 60k miles on it then they can have it.

After taxes it’s going to cost me 21k for a 80k truck.

Used truck market up about 35%. New car market up about 10%. Problem is finding a new truck. I’d sale it,but good luck finding a new one.
