Can anyone tell what the part the pressure gauge screws into is called? And what is its function. Thanks

Air volume controller. Should have a float switch inside and a tubing line. They are used to maintain air, water ration.

You want to keep in a few pounds less air then what your pumps switch is set to come on for. So if your pumps comes on at 40psi - make sure your air pressure is about 38 psi.
