What job/opportunity do you regret not taking

If you were 25, had no debts, a reliable vehicle, a chunk of change saved up, already earned a mechanical engineering degree. What would you go do if you wanted a bit of an adventure? I’m looking for career or job suggestions, preferably that involve travel to new locations or work out in the mountains in the middle of nowhere. I’m having a bad day at work and I’m semi-seriously considering alternative options

Was offered a job as a deck hand while fishing in Isla Mujeres when I was 25. They were leaving next day for Venezuela and fishing tournaments all year. Walked away. Would have been an experience of a lifetime.

I’d rob banks. Find me a skinny girl and they could call us Bony and Clod !

First thing is do is get a vasectomy. A wife and kids ends the dream of an adventurous lifestyle.

Back when I used to manage a bar on 6th Street I got invited to an event at a friends bar that was promoting this new digital currency called Bitcoin. I just couldn't wrap my head around how this digital money could ever actually work.

I blew money on plenty of stupid stuff back in that point of my life but I just couldn't talk myself into it. Had I just thrown $1,000 at it and forgot about it I would set for life a few times over. I believe a Bitcoin was $0.12 at the time. Doing the math on that still makes me sick.

            $300+ million. FML

Edit: Just went back and read your post, which is a little different than how I took the title. Sorry for the sidebar.

Screw the first part, just pull out, it's served me exceptionally well the last 27 yrs.
Last part is 100% spot on!

Me personally, I would go back to the age of 27, and take the offer to move to Alaska and fly tourist around.

Go get a job with one of the major construction companies (i.e Bechtel, Fluor, etc.) and become a construction manager, specifically take all the international assignments.

I would go guide in Alaska or basically any job in Alaska would work for me.

Back in 1981 I had a chance to live in Roatan and be a dive master for a resort. There have been many times over the years that I wished I had done it.

ABC Television, tried for nearly two years, to get me to sigh an acting contract
with them.. But, I'd have to move to Cali-crazy. And take some acting classes..
Then, when I was in the movie, "Born On the Fourth of July".. Universal studios, tried
the same thing.. I turned'em both down. I was already working for ABC Television.
Sometimes, I wonder if I didn't make the biggest blunder of all time... LOL....
Wouldn't mind the money... But you can keep that fame stuff..

I had a buddy in college that decided to stay on the mountain after a skiing trip and find a job. I check in with him a few times a year and he's still having a blast. He's been up there 17 years.

He wanted me to come work with him a couple years later after I graduated and I turned him down.

Maybe I wouldn't have turned down the job to work on/manage the 1st iPhone design. I didn't want to move to California. I had lived there a year and had no desire to go back.

                              Nah, I'm good.
