Do these hunts really cost 15-20k? That’s my sons dream hunt and I’d love to take him someday but not sure I could wrap around 30k for a hunting trip

reindeer hunting and caribou bow hunting in Greenland. Bowhuntinggreenland has the SCI archery world record.

This ^^^^ has me very interested. Wouldn’t mind making a trip with some fellow TBH’ers

You can do a Alaska drop camp hunt for around 5K or a haul road archery hunt for even less.

I didn't find the mountain caribou I was looking for when I went to the NWT back in 1995 for sheep and caribou, but if I did it again I would go back with Gana River Outfitters.

Raven's Throat is one of the ones I reached out to. Looks like they kill a lot of good animals. Thanks for sharing!

Boss did a hunt about 10 years ago in Northern Quebec. About as far north as you can go. They rented a cabin from an outfitter and were 100% on there own. Cheep but very secluded. They drove the last 5 hrs north and never saw another truck. Good luck op

My woodland was tough as it was hours upon hours trudging through wet tundra. If you want Alaska then the draw units have the biggest bulls and best odds. Stryker Overly(?) has some well known Alaskan hunts with grizzly as a very likely add on. If I was getting in to the game, wanted adventure, and get a chance to fish I would head to Nunavut!
Thanks, Doc! Will definitely be putting them on my list.

Hmmmm. Haven't looked into that one yet but certainly will!

I believe they can be hunted for less, but they are having supply chain issues, . With the hunts in Quebec being shutdown that has probably made everything else more expensive. Manitoba/Nunavut used to be a good hunt, but I believe the hunts there are not good anymore due to changes in migration and possibly the herd being in decline. I went in 2015 and 2017 to Nunavut. Had a good hunt in 2017 there were Caribou to hunt, but from what I understand in 2016 it was terrible (no animals) and I don't think it has gone well since then either, but I do not follow it closely. Great animals to bow hunt. Alaska might be the best option, not sure. I would also like to try for a Woodland Caribou at some point, those prices are up there.

When I was a kid, I would look at these hunts and they were about $4500 for two bull tags, I was researching these in a lot of detail and didn't find anything guided for less than $16-20K...Not sure I want to do it for that price when I can go to Africa and kill a dozen animals for 10 days including business class airfare. (That's what I'm paying for my trip in 2023).

If anybody finds something for less, that's guided, let me know please.

One of the best deals I have seen so far is with Alaska Arctic Adventures. He’s one of the guys that Doc mentioned. $11,900 for 2x1 trophy caribou. Can add a grizzly for $10K if the opportunity arises.

Is this assuming you draw a tag?

Is it overly ambitious to assume you could get a hunt booked for '23 in either Alaska or NWT? I'm hearing you need to book these hunts 2-3 years in advance.

Check their website, I believe they have availability for ‘23.
