We did granite in our kitchen and have been very happy with it. Have to seal it once a year but that's easy. Currently doing the bathroom in quartz, cost was a big factor. With granite we would have had to buy a larger slab with a lot of waste, quartz we can get closer to the size we need and not pay for so much extra material.

You need to apply a liquid sealer every year to keep the pores full - if they dry out the capillary effect will actually pull stains in but a poultice will pull it back out if you know what your doing. The sealer is easy peasy though just coat and let dry. Quartz like silestone is a little warmer and needs no sealer applied but for breathtaking beauty granite over quarts IMO Acrylics like corian are warmer to the touch and more forgiving - I've fabbedall of the above and personally I'd prefer granite for it's natural beauty

What is the sealer needed and where can we find it?

              We use this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Granite-...0036/204845004

We just swapped out all of our surfaces. Wanted quartz but didn't want to do something silly with a pot and regret it. We found the whitest slabs of granite we could (River White, has some wine colored speckles in it) and are very happy. Again, super durable and sealing is no issue. Very happy with the final product!
