I agree. I don't think metal has went up at the same rate as lumber though. From all of the quotes I have gotten I can build a metal building for the same price as a pole barn. I built a pole barn 4 years ago at a different property. At that time it was about double the price for all metal vs a pole barn. Now they are the same cost...
I also am not opposed to buying a metal building kit & building it myself. If anyone knows of a good metal kit dealer. I have gotten a quote from Mueller & am working on a couple of others.
Check out Surplus Steel on Eastex freeway. They have metal building kits with prices listed in the lobby. Maybe if you call they can send you a pdf via email, but I wouldn't count on it. Be prepared for a wait when you pick up but their prices are good.
So ill add this, and he built mine in late 2020, but Statton's price was less than 5K more than what a mueller kit+concrete+foam was going to cost me for a 30x50. I had. The fact that he built it in a week (and im sure it wouldve taken me a few weekends) and i didnt have to rent a lift to build made that a pretty good deal to me.
We’re starting to get serious about doing a metal building at our place. DDM in Brenham was at $31,500 for a 60’ X 24’ building with two roll-up doors & one walkway door. That price included insulation. What’s the going rate for concrete (material & labor) for a metal building nowadays? The heaviest thing we would drive on it would be a pickup truck.
I know you can buy a kit from Mueller. I am trying to get info on other places as well. For some reason I can find plenty of people who build pole barns but not so much on metal buildings.
Are the quotes that you have gotten for the 30 x 50 installed or just the kit?
