    Student Driver

My daughter is going through Driver Ed. We are embarking on a maiden voyage today. Back roads, Highway speeds, sudden stops, parking etc. For some reason it hit me this morning. My little 5lbs premature baby, that nearly 20 doctors said would not enter this world is nearing HS graduation. Then college, adulthood. All of you with babies at home. Cherish the sleepless nights. Before you know it they are grown. We are making new memories everyday. Time sure does fly when you're having fun. That statement never rang more true.

One thing I forgot to mention. I am going to have her go through DQ. This way she can get in the habit of buying me a chocolate dipped cone!

My 15 year old baby lady is goin through it right now. Got her learners permit about 2 weeks ago. I have taught the oldest the oldest 5 to drive and they have all done well and are all accident free so far (knock on wood). I and my wife have even taught my soon to be 19 year olds girlfriend how to drive… she was basically an orphan (forced to live with her only remaining family-a cousin who couldn’t care less about her) but she is almost 20 but just got her drivers license.
Once my 15 year old is finished up…. Only my 14 year old and 11 year old remain and then I believe I’ll retire from teaching kids to drive…it’s **** near been a full time gig the last 8-10 years

I'm going on a limb here. The only remaining hairs you have are grey?

My oldest turned 16 and takes her driving test TODAY at 11am. Everyone stay off the sidewalks for about an hour or so. She's gonna do great and knock it out of the park. Sad when your 16 year old can parallel park better than her mother!!!

Congrats to you and your daughter. She’ll do fine. Seems like yesterday when I was teaching mine. He learned in a old Nissan hardbody 4x4, manual tranny. Hit the backroads then the interstate. My wife said he had to learn sometime. She made him drive most of the way to Kansas.

Seems like yesterday I was throwing them in the pool and they would stand on my shoulders to dive. They just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago!?!? I did teach em good though - after making a few knives they were both like I wanna do something that pays!!!
