It should be but you can contact your local Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office for confirmation.

Make sure you do a soil test, too. Sand burs and weeds are generally an indication of poor soil health. You probably need to adjust your ph level and need nitrogen.

      Where do y'all buy Rezelon?

For pastures, I highly recommend Rezilon. You will need 1/2" of rain to wash it in, but it is resilient for 6 weeks and has a 6 month residual.

Treating is preemergent is much better and easier than with a post emergent.
        Thank you for the reminder!

I saw some on Amazon. ~$350 for a jug I calculated will do about 10-11 acres

Oh...there is no doubt soil health is a problem. Thin grass is also a problem. With that said, I don't feel like spending a fortune on improving it. Just want to make sure my dog can move around in our yard without having to pick stickers out of her paws every few feet. I think if I can get the sandburs under control and frequent/light watering, our grass does pretty decent. Decent enough for me anyway. Just really want to get those **** sandburs under control.

Thanks. I guess I'll just keep scraping burrs off of my pants legs.

Catclaw is an acacia plant of some sort short thorned or long thorned... Any acacia can be controlled by Remedy... Remedy/diesel mix is the standard... If it's big, hack and spray. If it's small, you can mow/shred and spray...

Thanks Tracey for the reminder... We have them around our camp in South Texas... Just so happens I'm headed down this weekend for some work and late season hunting... takin' my 40 gallon sprayer and boom...

Both feed stores in Centerville have it. Davis was about $20.00 cheaper a bottle than Centerville.
I spent around $700.00 last year on it and still had burrs...

Good to know. Let me know if you find anything that works. Our sandy soil is horrible for burrs.

Also you'll need to run glyphosate with your rezilon to kill any that didn't fully die in the cold as well as perennials type of burs. I run a quart to the acre. The rezilon webinar said they get to 10% to 80% control of sandburs, the 10% was with no glyphosate

Keep in mind, the max you should apply per year is 6 oz and the minimum is 3oz per application. Don't spray 4 oz now and think you will be ok to spray 3 - 4 oz in 6 months. You will damage your Bermuda grass.

I'm not sure if TSC has Rezilon. I buy from Producers Co-Op and Aurora out of Rose Bud. I'm sure they have the turfgrass herbicides and Prowl so I don't see why they would not have Rezilon.

Unless you have bare soil, I do not recommend Prowl. Prowl specifically says, must be applied to bare soil. It sticks very well to soil and it dissolves in the sun when on grass, which means it never gets to the soil.

Depending on where you are, you may want to follow up with a post emergent such as Pastora in mid March to mid April. Sand burs germinate at soil temperature of 52 degrees which can be as early as March 1 but is generally around March 15. After that, watch very carefully for sprouting sandburs. When they are about 2" tall (half a hand width) you will want to spray. In my area, this is generally around the end of March. South Texas will be earlier, north Texas a little later.

For turfgrass, here's a good article by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension. Do not spray MSMA of DSMA in grazing pastures. It will stick to the grasses and is toxic to horses and cattle. Texas A&M Vet Med Diagnostic Lab has an article on that, too.
How do you mix Rezilon for use in a hand held pump sprayer? I only have a small area to do?

Chew - Producers Co-Op has it less than $300. I think I paid $285, but I'm spraying a lot more. Plus by putting out a pre-emergent, I saved money and time on not putting out other herbicides.

I sprayed 30 acres last year and did not have any sand burs this year. Where I sprayed I also did not have goat weed, Johnsongrass, crabgrass, horsenettle, bull nettle, thistle, or milkweed or a slew of other weeds I normally see.

If you had a hard freeze, you won't need to put glyphosate. Glyphosate is an excellent contact herbicide and it used to be cheap enough that adding it was a good idea.

If you have a small area that just needs a hand held pump sprayer, JTCowpoke, I would put out one of the ones recommended for yards. There won't be enough arsenic to poison horses or cattle.

Can I use the same stuff for those big brown cockleburrs. I had a tank dug out last year and the fresh dirt produced a ton of them. Was going to just spray Glyphosate as soon as they started coming up.
