If Texas does well in the Big 12 tourney they should host a regional. Wherever they end up in the field of 64 they will not be a desirable opponent that’s for sure. There are a lot of talented teams in the mix. Tennessee just appears to be on their own level this year, but people said the same thing about Arkansas last year and they didn’t even make Omaha.

No different than football, it's WHEN you win/lose? Average teams make it to Omaha every year because they get hot at the right time. Rankings don't matter in baseball that much. Surely you can acknowledge that Texas was average in conference play compared to the rest of their schedule? And Tanner Witt hurts a lot. Texas could and is talented enough to make a run but they shouldn't host at this point. Now if they run the table in the conference tourney, that could change some things for sure
