My dog ran off..

We had a female lab mix dog once. Bred her with a yellow lab. She laid on/killed all but one of the pups. When the pup was a month or two old, it started having seizures and ended up dying. All I can figure was the mom knew something was wrong with the other pups and was taking care of it her own way. Very strange to me.

Glad she came back home. I doubt having a whelping box made up for her would have changed the outcome, her instincts told her to go, having a box there wouldn’t have changed that.
