Car and insurance after wreck ??

My sister had a guy rear end her while she was stopped at a stop sign. There was drama (no insurance but then his insurance said they'd cover it)..

So she has a 2018 Toyota Corolla.

Looks like she won't be out any money but I'm sure the value of her car just tanked since the entire rear end will have to be replaced so it will show up as a wrecked car after this.

As the party that did nothing wrong in a case like this is it just too bad? Or can one ask for some sort of lower car value compensation? She doesn't want to play any BS lawyer games although my other sister that was with her should have seen a doctor (said her neck hurt a little).

Looks like she should file a Diminished Value Claim.

Does she do that herself or have her insurance agent help her do that?

Without paying for a lawyer herself, there isn't a lawyer who would touch a PD case like this.
She should certainly ask for DV but she is going to need to know how much so she isn't low balled.
On the flip side, the auto market is so high right now, I don't see it diminishing the value much at all but that is my $.02

Typically your agent will request that from the other parties insurance.

I’ve done diminished value claim twice. Search diminished value company’s and call and talk to them. They will walk you through the process. You won’t need to contact them until the car is repaired but get plenty pictures before during and after repairs. Once car is repaired and back in your possession contact there insurance and notify them your filing diminished value claim and you will be sending them a report. Hire your diminished value company and send all the pictures plus a receipt from body shop with details of repairs. The diminished value company will complete a report and a value that you submit to insurance company. Insurance company will try to lowball you but don’t back down even if you have file in small claims court against person who caused the accident. You will battle back and forth with insurance and they will settle out of court. Cost of diminished value company both times I did it was $350 and they will help you along the whole way and some will also appear in court with you if it came down to it. If you have any questions PM me.
