Atv Riding

For those of you that have atvs, is there anywhere close to Houston that you can ride? Like trails, I’m not one for sinking my four wheeler in mud. Don’t get me wrong I definitely don’t mind riding through creeks, mud puddles etc. just not looking for an offroad park that is focused on mudding. I’m not sure if you can ride through the national forest or anything that’s my next research project. I would like to find a place to just spend some time with my son trail riding.

Extreme off road in crosby, creekside in Splendora. Those 2 are the closest to houston

You can ride in NF on open roads and trails, just not those that are closed to motorized vehicles.

North of lake Conroe has trails in the national forest

I’ll have to check into the national forest, around lake conroe. That would be ideal I just wasn’t sure that you could ride there.

Sam Houston NF. There is a trail that goes through our hunter camp.

Many years ago a bunch of us use to go 4 wheelin off of Birnamwood (i think) we would have 10+ trucks on occasion. Even camped out there. Always had a good time, but that was in the 90's.
