    Gun safe issue ?

Anyone here ever have trouble getting their safe to unlock ? Sometimes I have to enter my combination 3,4 or 5 times before it unlocks . I have already changed the battery . Actually I have tried two new batteries.

      It’s a cannon . Think it’s a 48 gun .

I also have a cannon but like I said no issues with opening. (unless I mess up the code.)
Been running the same battery for a couple of years.

I have had this issue in the past, and I had to add a number (up or down) to each digit of the combination. Once I did that, it opened every time.

          Example - Original combo 8 -21-26
          Adjusted combo 9 -22- 27

This was a wheel safe, not digital.

I think my safe is 8 years old . This is the second time I have replaced the battery. It might be the keypad having an issue . Just watched a YouTube video about it . It’s acting like my keypad is going out . Fixing to email Cannon and see what they say .

I did this to mine. I trashed the electronic combo for a old dial so now I don't have to worry about an EMP blast taking out my safe.

Big Red Safe Lock Package Kit Includes: Group 2 Lock, Dial With Rubber Grip, Dial Ring, change key, key lock insert, key lock escutcheon, all mounting hardware and instructions.

Might end up going this was . For some reason I’m not a fan of the dial lock . My dads safe is a dial .

It's preference, but when a local gun shop buddy had all his e-locks go out after a thunder storm??

                  S&G dials for me.

Why would a thunderstorm cause a lock to fail ?

No idea...said he found out the next day after the electric / thunder storm. Customer wanted to buy a safe & then found out all e-dials got knocked out. Only thing he could contribute it to was the storm??

I know they reported a lot of lightning strikes but said he had no evidence of a hit on the store.

Use all alkaline Duracell or Energizer batteries per Cannon. I have found that cheap batteries don't work very well, so I always use good batteries which cost more.

I've had a Browning for 20 plus years, no batteries. My biggest concern is forgetting the combo sequence.
