I don't know the answer to your question.

I do know I've had Tikka rifles for a long time, bought my 3rd two weeks ago. I have a CTR in .308, a T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor that I swapped the stock out to a B&C medalist, and a T3 Roughtech in 7mm Rem Mag. They are all 1/2 MOA guns with factory ammo. In addition to mine, I have personal knowledge of about 4 others in various variations and calibers that shoot as well if not better than mine. As mentioned two of mine are out of the box great shooters. My T3x shot great but I wanted it to be something special and keep it under 1k. The B&C medalist stock with the aluminum bedding block and new bottom metal from High Desert Rifle Works made it more practical for my needs.

Savage is like a fat girl. Puts out every time. And usually pretty dang well. They got to! But you don’t tell your buddies about em. And you don’t go showing them off everywhere

This…except they’re not fat they’re ugly and clumsy

I think you would be looking at an Axis model in the Savage which is their economy inexpensive model. I have shot several and tinkered with them some and they are very accurate for the money but they are not as flashy or as aesthetically pleasing.
As far as a browning I think they have a compact/youth model in the xbolt and the AB3 models. Xbolt being the more expensive one. Xbolt is supposed to come glass bedded from the factory. I have an xbolt and they are accurate and nice looking. I would say I have shot several savages higher and lower end that were more accurate than my xbolt but I have also shot whitetail and mule deer out to 410 yards with no problem with the Xbolt. The AB3 is also a good rifle and closer in price etc.. to the savage axis. I would get a browning if it was something you wanted to make sure she had something nicer to possible keep forever and hand down. If it would be something she will shoot a couple times a year at best and wouldn't be an item with seniority in her eyes go with the savage axis.

I am on the Savage Bandwagon. Own 4 of them and all of them shoot Lights Out. The way they look has nothing to do with the accuracy of the rifle.
I have ZERO issues with how they look, as long as they punch a hole in what I am shooting at. So Far So Good...

I have owned both and never like the Xbolt or the BAR. BAR struggled to shoot sub 1.5 MOA, and the Xbolt was 1-1.25.

Savage does offer some laminate stocks that are really nice, but most of their production is for actual hunting, not safe queens. I own or owned a good many Browning rifles, pistols, and shotguns. They where at the top in their time, but I kinda feel that time has pasted them by.

Newer production(2000-present) of Browning, Weatherby, Remington, Winchester aren't that impressive. Now if you are talking a 60-80s, model different story.

My first Savage was a 110e in 30-06. Got it in 1981 and it STILL shoots Lights Out. If the crosshairs are on it, consider it DRT.... From pigs to Whitetail to Red Deer. It IS my GO TO Rifle... Kicks like a ****** Off Mule, but it is LIGHTS OUT....

If all you care about is accuracy out of the box, Savage. If you want a gun with better fit and finish, that you can hand down generations Browning. That being said, in my opinion, the accu trigger on Savage rifles is better, and savage rifles tend to shoot tighter groups in general out of the box. (In my experience). You can tinker with a browning and make the trigger better, and find the load it likes. Savages, are pretty much plug and play.

Had to beat this in my non expert opinion if your daughter is small framed and to make sure she wants to stick with it. You can always upgrade later if she has to have something to brag to her friends about.

I bought a savage high country in 270 last year and a browning Xbolt in 30-06 . I already owned an older low end savage 270 with the accu trigger . I always go back to either savage, and killed deer and pigs with both last year. The xbolt is definitely made much better and you can tell the quality difference in the xbolt by just working the bolt . As mentioned before with either savage if I can see something I will hit it every time. I am ordering a lighter trigger for the xbolt to see if that makes a difference , if not I will probably end up selling the xbolt. There is something about the savages and not really feeling the breakpoint of the trigger when shooting that works for me . I am not a great shot, typical hunter, in that I check sight before season and then maybe shoot a few times hunting. I never shoot groups as tight with the xbolt as I do either savage. It is probably just me, but it works for me and the savages make me look like a great shot
I shot a 10 point a couple of years ago in S TX with my lower end savage at 440 + yards and hit right where I was aiming. Surprised me as much as the buck that I hit it

what about the action on both? which one is sloppy and which one is tight?

the accutrigger savage guns shoot good but overall fit and finish isnt there.

I bought a Savage Axis II in 6.5CM and at the same time bought a Browning Xbolt in hells canyon .270. I actually like the Savage just as much if not better and it shoots AMAZING.

                                Function over form.

I have the option of hunting with a Savage or a number of other higher end rifles. I almost always go with the Savage. It's a very accurate rifle and I'm not afraid to use it in tough terrain or rough weather. It may be "ugly" to some, but it is a highly efficient tool.
