Looking to do more wade fishing down in Rockport. I don’t have access to a boat, so looking for recommendations on places to be able to wade out from the shore.

Some good areas listed already. There is also a road that dead ends into a kayak launch over near Port Bay.
A little drive from Rockport, but Aransas refuge has some spots you can wade out or launch a kayak. Also there are several bridges between AP and Port A. More bank fishing than wade fishing but when the fish are there, they are really there on the pilings.

Are you willing to drive to Ingelside?
Google Earth: Find Ingelside Dr and Post Oak Dr intersection which is waterside. Park there. Waste Deep Grass Flat with pockets, Ingelside Cove to your north, wading towards Cooks Island. You can cast net finger mullet in the grass, single hook no weight and throw them. I like to throw cross wind with the wind at my back, keeping the rod tip very high. If there is a decent breeze, the cross wind will blow you line thats above water, and drag that finger mullet across the surface which can result in some awesome blow ups. I will usually lower the rod as I reel in the slack. Allow that mullet to go a different depth, then slowly raise the rod back up high to get the wind to drag the bait. Its been a killer method that has placed me a few tourneys. If needed I will add a split shot or two a few inches in front of the hood for either casting distance or just to keep it at a lower depth.
I've had some really good walk in wades there when I was working down there and did not have my boat. Caught some nice trout up 23'' one wade a few reds. If its drum season, you can catch those mega drum big uglies in the deep channel on half a blue crab, maybe even a bull red.
