We replanted a few of the okra that didn't survive, with a different variety. May have to replant some of the peas for the third time.

Lost 50 tomato plants, 2 rows of peas, and 2 rows of beans before I was able to get in the garden and recognize what was going on, due to muddy conditions. Never even heard of aphids doing that kind of damage. Have to replant.

Same here, except my enemy is aphids and mealy worms. Sprayed plants with soapy water tonight. Headed in today to buy an insecticide.

If you don't get that borer before it enters the plant's stem, that BT won't do anything for you... Watch your plants for signs of "sawdust" and sap... If you see it, take a syringe and inject the BT above the entry site (where the sawdust/sap is oozing out). Better yet, get you some Spinosad (it's organic too). spray with that and it is a better, more potent caterpillar killer than BT.
Saw my first borer fly a couple days ago... found 2 or 3 eggs and scraped them off... sprayed the heck out of my squash, zuccs, and cukes... They seem to have started their assault earlier this year than in year's past.

So yesterday I got my trellises put up and everything was looking good. This morning I check on my garden and dang, my zucchini have these tiny black bugs on them (aphids?). When I look under the leaves they are covered in these dang bugs. I mean they are black with these blasted things. I don’t have any insecticide on hand so rather than wait till I get some I mixed up some white vinegar, garlic juice, water and soap in a sprayer. I sprayed the leaves on both sides pretty liberally. I did notice, while I was spraying that there was a lady bug in one of the leaves. I hope I didn’t screw up by spraying my plants. These zucchini are just starting to get their flowers.
On a positive note, potatoes are starting to flower and beans are producing.
