I got most of my bags off Amazon and bought the cheapest ones I could find. This is an experiment so didn't want to invest in the higher cost (probably more durable) bags until we see if it works or not... The bags do not hold moisture very well, so metered regular watering is a must. However there are ways to make them somewhat "self Watering"... You Tube has a bunch of methods. One is just to put them in some kind of tray that will keep about 2-4" of water in it and the bag/soil combination will wick the moisture up into the plant roots. We bought a few pools to try this. I also ordered enough supplies to build a drip irrigation system for them (up to 150 bags) for under 150 bucks, including a programmable timeer. I will ultimately also inject the fertilizer through this irrigation system too. For now we are just hand fertilizing them. My wife just finished with the first major fertilization since transplanting or planting into the bags this morning, so we're good for a couple weeks. The soil formula we made also helps to retain quite a bit of moisture too with all the perlite we put in it... That stuff is like a sponge. Dry, a bag of it the size of a 50 pound sack of corn probably weighs less than 3 or 4 pounds. If you soak the bag in water, the bag cannot be lifted without tearing and it's a tough bag! I'd guess the wet/saturated bag weighed probably 75# or more.
The bags are fabric and they create a phenomenon called "air pruning" that is supposed to promote more new root growth from the plant stem rather than allowing the plants to become root bound by very long stringy roots. The roots will try to penetrate the fabric and when they actually do and protrude to the outside of the bag, since they are no longer in the soil, they shrivel up and die on the ends, thus stimulating the plant to start new roots... so there is a constant turnover in roots... So far things seem to be working pretty much like I have read and watched on the many, many YouTube videos I've seen...

Added a potato box to the raised beds this year. You add soil and boards as they grow up and can grab taters as needed from the bottom by removing a lower board without digging them up. Up to board #2 already.

We are also trying a small layered garden on our hunting property with no irrigation. Planted all kinds of different seeds and starts in there last week and will cover it thick with mulch after things pop up a few inches to see what might grow. It should be interesting to see if anything makes it with only rain.

Definitely going to start growing more from seed. Our Bonnies bill went up a lot this year.
