    Best Router

Recommendations on router for the house.
Wife works from home, kids play video games, tv, phones, and tablets. Tell me the good bad and ugly.

About anything Netgear sales will work pretty well for you. The more it costs the more features it has. The Nighthawk series is a good line.

Not much difference in any of them really.
I've used em all, and unless you're the geeky type it won't matter what you get really.
Coverage area(sqft), will probably mean the most to you.
If more coverage is needed, go with a mesh system, vs wi-fi boosters.

TP link Deco's are great if you want to maximize coverage but you'll really need to add a switch if you're wanting to go hard wired with anything. But other than that they are all the same above 50 bucks for the most part.

I came to this thread ready to recommend my dewalt but I don't think that's going to do what you're needing

your choke point isn't the router but the modem from your provider. more bandwidth costs more.

New modem, and a mesh system.

I was not happy with cavle company provided modem/router as ut constantly needed to be reset and would knock items offline(garage door, thermostat).

Bought a new modem- specifically Motorola MB7621 Cable Modem

Then went with a mesh wireless system for full house coverage. I went with a EERO system. Single floor house so I got the base plus 2 pucks.

We now get the "advertised" speed or darn close to it.

I also have the eero mesh system. Base router plus two pucks and it covers my 2900 ft 2-story just fine.
