        Those are hides, not animals, and that picture is WAY WAY OLD..... I remember seeing that picture in Fur Fish and Game ...

              OK...I am gonna show my age now...when I was a kid there were government trappers in South Texas that did nothing but snare/poison coyotes. They would move onto a ranch (with permission) and stay a couple of weeks killing coyotes...they were proud of their work and typically they would hang the dead coyotes on the highway fence by the gate so that the rancher could see that they were "doing their job"...It was a very common sight to see 50-100 dead coyotes hanging on a barbed wire fence as you drove down the road...some ranchers would just leave them and they would hang there for years as shriveled pieces of hairy rawhide...in response to the tree huggers etc. they didn't quit killing coyotes in the 60's but they DID quit hanging them on the fences.
