For anyone in Houston area, I have 2 imaging centers. It can be a head ache with insurance to get things approved.
If anyone ever has to pay cash, don't go to a hospital. Find a outpatient imaging facility. Prices are day and night for the same quality of work and health care.

That CT would be about 250 at my place. 2k plus at the hospital.

Sometimes it is the staffthat makes a mistake, but 99% of the time it's the insurance that just denies it. Maybe request a peer-peer with the insurance/doctor. Sometimes those will work. Just depends on the insurance.

You might need a CT or a Nuclear medicine study to show what's wrong. But good luck, if you have any questions drop me a PM.

      Please enlighten me.
I am having the exact same issue the OP is.
Started almost exactly 3 months ago as well while in Colorado.
Very uncomfortable and unusual feeling, 24/7 I can feel it, but it's not as bad as it sounds like the OPs is.
I assumed I just pulled something and have been ignoring it, but I've never had diaphragm pain before, it's kinda weird.
OP I would be interested in hearing the outcome if you get any traction with your insurance.

I do not like reading this 3 days before I go visit the Doc for some severe back problems! Hopefully Medicare and supplemental pays for everything. So far they have paid every single penny.

I would visit a (good) chiropractor just to see if it’s a few ribs out of place. I had a very similar situation for a year and several doctor visits. Finally an old school imaging tech told me to go see a chiropractor. I was fixed in 30 minutes.

I have been talking to insurance for about 2 hours today and gotten the run around. Starting to lose patience.

I on the other hand saw a chiropractor first with some bad neck pain I was recently having. After he adjusted me, I wanted to shoot him. All he did was make it worse. I should've went to a real Dr first as the pain was severe. The real Dr gave me some drugs to help with the pain while they figured out what the problem was. If your pain is severe dont mess around with chiropractor unless your doc instructs you to.

This is muscular or an organ. They did an X-ray and said everything looked fine. They want a CT scan to see the muscles and organs.

I had neck pains. I could not drive as I could not twist my neck around at driving turns. Went to the chiropractor and he d-- near broke my neck. The next visit I told him, do not pop my neck, crack again, heard in the waiting room. Had an MRI, bulging disk, had surgery and fine. I have noooooo respect for the incompentent...
