I was just talking with friends last night about this very same subject and all report the same thing (with reference to the Central Texas area). The consensus is that last year’s freeze has negatively and significantly impacted the population.

Eastern Williamson the numbers are very low. Normally this time of year there are dozens around the feeders waiting for them to spin. This year only a handful.

Went out last week to our little honey hole here in Williamson County between Round Rock and Georgetown. Not a single bird.
We slayed em in Sept
