Had the stairs to the garage apt replaced and they just did a horrible job. Took me 8ish hours to screw stuff and reinforce stuff to get it to 75% ok...

That is not good. They should have paid you. I don’t understand how someone that does “contract” work can charge for this type of a product/service and go around looking folks in the eye while taking their money.

Just out of curiosity, are you documenting all this to show the “contractor”? Not that I think it would do any good. Ray Charles could “see” this was a horrible workmanship.

I remember years back we bought one of those big fancyswing sets, spent a few grand. Wife wanted to pay to have it put together. Guys show up, had some kid using an impact to put in these big screws, cracked over half the boards he touched before the other guy took the impact away from him and they went to get replacement boards. I started drinking early that day.

Why did you accept the work and pay them? Always, and I mean always hold out a final payment until the work is complete and you’ve accepted it.

We had an issue with a walk through door that was stained,dented and the frame clearly broken. So bad I can't believe they hung it. Sent pics to the owner and we got a new door

I would have but I for sure knew by then nobody he had was capable of doing it right. I didn’t want them touching another thing.

Years ago before I knew what one looked like I went with the cheapest bid and hired meth heads to hang sheetrock in my shop apartment! I guess they hung the sheetrock somewhere....it just wasn't at my place

Well I needed my shop skinned and trimmed out and I went with the cheapest bid and that’s what I got. Why somebody would turn a bunch of kids loose trimming out a metal building who have no idea what they’re doing is beyond me. I’ll have to redo it myself. They did get the r-panel on straight though but those boys are far from craftsman. Mad at myself more than anything.
