What % of deer caught on camera

I’m running two Tactacams that keep me entertained while I’m at home (lotsa nighttime activity the last two nights with this full moon).

Sitting in the stand and watching I would say they are only catching about 1/4 of what’s actually going on.
I’m watching deer go in and out and rarely get the pic on my phone to coincide with what I’m seeing.

Last week I had a very nice buck (shooter for this place) cross between my two feeders (only one cam at this stand) that are 100 yards apart and never went near either one. He stepped right over the corn I had in pistol range and never stopped.

He didn’t get big by being stupid.

The biggest deer we have taken on our place never had the picture taken, a couple nice deer were caught in the background when does were on camera. It's funny because we all say the same thing "where did he come from".

This is spot on for my area as well!

          How would we know?

Shot him this year, never on camera, never seen in the wild. Following a hot doe was the first and only time I was this big, old buck.

We have been managing our place for 6 years, for the last 3 years, we always get a lot of pics of the deer we kill. We might get pics of 10 deer a year we dont know. We have 5k acres and run about 40 cameras. Our deer have very low pressure, 1 hunter per 400 acres, That might be the reason we see most of our deer.

That is a monster buck. Congrats.
In our area in goliad, some big bucks travel miles during the rut
              It keeps our hopes up!

If you are running cameras only on feeders you will definitely miss some mature bucks.
Biggest buck I’ve ever had on camera I only had pictures of at on a trail that crosses a creek. We’ve got 800 acres just a few miles from I-45. Just this morning I got a picture of a big mature 8 that we’ve never seen and we have had cameras out since July
