    Question for lifetime license holders

I may have to move for a few years out of state. For those of you who moved after purchasing a lifetime license, how does that work with an out of state address and drivers license? Also, how long does the application take to process?

    Thanks

Processing can take a few weeks right now. There is only one lady doing all the work. I just bought my daughter a LT fishing back in September.
I have the LT combo I bought several years ago. No matter if you leave the state of Texas, you can still hunt on it just like a resident. They sent me a magnetic card like a credit card. Take that to any license distributor, and get them. Or you can call. Or even order on line. LT is good for your lifetime.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

I have mine and would suggest it to anyone that doesn't have it. I have the lifetime hunting and fishing license. I got it when it was $1,000. My buddy bought his right before it went up to $1800 and I think he just called in and did it over the phone if I remember correctly, mine was given as a high school graduation gift. Considering a Nonresident hunting license is $315 a year, if you plan on being out of state for 5-6 years it will pay itself off quick.

I had my wallet stolen with my LT card in it and was worried how much of a pain it was going to be to get a new one. Never have gotten a new one. I just walk up to the license counter at Academy, tell them I have my lifetime and my name and DOB and they are able to look it up right there.

I got a lifetime hunting license before 2009 for $600. Wish I would have gotten the fishing as well.

Give TP&W a call. I bet you can get a replacement.

If you already have one, the other is $800 to add on. Still cheaper than paying full price.

                  I highly recommend getting it.
It has been an easy process as those above have said.
I call each year in September and get the tags sent to me for me and whichever kids I think will be hunting in TX that year. When needed, we just stop at a store to get them printed.

I've never used the LT card. Its in my safe. Like you said drivers license is all that's needed to get your license. .I called the state years ago when I learned hunters ed numbers are now printed on licenses and my wasn't.They got my HE linked to my license and I was shipped a new card for free.

Point of that is I'm guessing the state would have no problem shipping you a new one for free or cheap.
