WALKED into my first physical therapy appointment 5 days after TKR, no walker, no cane. I’m already at 2 degrees, (right knee is only at 3 degrees after 8 weeks of rehab). I was able to peddle for 5 minutes on a bike with around 111 degrees bend. Still work to do on bending range of motion with a goal of 135+ degrees. Haven’t needed any hydrocodone since Saturday night.

On the downside, I had some medicine interactions that provided for a really scary couple of days. Fortunately I figured out what was triggering the issues and stopped taking it.

Not sure if it was the use of robotics for surgery or the extensive pre-hab on the left knee before surgery or a combination of the two but I’m already 2-3 weeks ahead of where I was on my first knee.

had my right knee replacement done Nov 9, walking good, doc happy as of last wed. Still enough pain makes it hard to sleep at night.

I managed to slip badly on Fri and take a hard fall. Knee is good, no damage but I broke two ribs. Those ribs hurt pretty bad.

Dang gettin old is for the birds....

I can relate to “enough pain makes it hard to sleep”. First one was October 21st and I was finally able to get a decent nights sleep the last week before second surgery (around week 8). Swelling is my biggest issue and the pressure on my knees is just enough to keep me from getting a good night’s sleep.

Sorry to hear about the fall and broken ribs. Falling and damaging the new knee has to be one of the biggest concerns. Limited mobility due to the knee has to make it tougher on broken ribs. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
