Target and back stop questions-State Park range

i just got hired on with TPWD-Choke Canyon. We filled the pool in, and we are making an Archery range. I think it will be for all ages and hope to have classes for kids to learn about archery. I need ideas of material to use for the targets and for the back stop. DIY ideas would be great along with any economical off the shelf items as well. If you have any pics, that would be great as well

bump for more ideas. I can use dirt as the back stop. Right now we have square hay bales stacked with targets mounted in front of the bales. We have a net that we hang behind the bales, its about 10' tall x 25' long.

Hay is a bad idea. It won’t stop much and it’s the worlds best fire ant habitat Horse stall mats work if in the budget

That was a typo - I cannot use dirt as a back stop is what I meant

We used to hang old used carpet behind the targets for our 4-H program. Works plenty good and you can get it from carpet installers or their dumpsters.

We have used the big blocks of old Styrofoam leftover from boat docks ect. I've gotten some weird looks at the boat ramp with the shoalwater loaded down.
