What color y’all suggest for blood trailing and general use in the woods? What abt the iR option?

Energizer 200, 300 or 350 for around $20-$25. Have many and always work, Some have Red and green bulbs as well as white,

I've never seen a headlamp better than my Fenix HL60R, however it doesn't satisfy your requirement for protection from turning on in the pack. For that I have a Black Diamond Storm 400, it's got a feature where you can lock it by holding two buttons down until it flashes and to unlock it you've got to do the same.

This is the one I am looking at getting, I just bought a few Nebo lights, saw two others including the head lamp, and a work light. They make a folding 2000 lumen work light, that I could use all the time.

40KAP has a plug on the side you disconnect. Piece of cake. It’s a little heavy but for what that thing can do, it’s expected.
