    Question for coon experts?

I needed to change a couple of my barrels out. Wrapped 1 x 2 wire mesh around the outside of the barrel. Spin plate is 9 1/2" away from the wire, do you think the coons can still reach it?

That's the set up I use. They have to get the corn off the ground if they want some. Did you make a door to get to your timer to make time adjustments or battery? Looks good.

              No expert....just infested.

You should be aight .....my coons could spin it at 9-10" but my holes we 2"x4" and they could get to their shoulder...being 1x2 you should be ok.

These cages above are 20"x20" with 2"x4" holes. Beloe you can see where I had to overlay 1x1/2" mesh to keep them from spinning it. I ended up cutting the mesh out to 1"x1"...

They can still reach it if you have some over achievers like I do. I have had this cage for 3 or 4 years and never had a problem with them getting to it until I move it to this place I got this year. The cage is the same diameter as the barrel amde out of 1x2 wire. I had a ontime timer with the solar panel rapped around the housing that they destroyed and in this picture you can see the coon can reach the spinner by the corn falling. I have trapped 5 and shot 1 and thought I had taken most of them out until I check the camera this weekend and saw this picture.

I did exactly what you did, and it solved my coon problem.

I have always put them on the side. This time I put it on the bottom, and like it better.

                    Thanks for all the info.

I'd love to drill the one hanging upside down right between those glowing eyes just to watch him fall.
