    Am I overreacting ???

A while ago I read a thread about a fellow TBH'er trying to finish school to become a Firefighter. I remembered how hard it was for me: never seeing my wife; working full-time nights; and going to school full-time in the day. (Spent many a days sleeping in my truck.)

So when I read his thread, I felt the need to help. I sent him about $35.00 worth of equipment and only asked that when he received it, he send me $5.00 for shipping. (I also asked that when he was done with it to pass it on to the next guy with the hopes that this would continue.) This is part of the Brotherhood, doing what you can and passing on tradition. I'm not trying to get my money, never would have sent it had I needed it. That item was given to me the same way and I used it in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Dallas, and now on to him.

Keep it alive and good luck brother - hope you make it to your goal, but you should have kept your word!!!!

all you can do is what you know is a good thing. you did your part, and as much as it should be passed on, that is all that can be done.

Hopefully the guy's been sleeping in his truck, going to school, and working his butt off too, and that's why he hasn't made good on it. Hopefully he'll get the time to follow through.

not firefighters but I just did the same thing with a youth rifle I had. small 243 that I gave to a friends son under the condition that it went to another youth when he was done.

I commend you on that and I'm sure it'll all pass on.

I hope that I run into someone like you when I am in need. I teach high school students and I will use this as an example in my class. It's like tithing. You give your first fruits and let the good lord take care of the rest.

Thats what I'm talking about. Good for you, this world needs more people like you. That item, it sent, has seen alot of bad and good calls. (Like your vests and holsters.) It's about doing the right thing. This will not discourage me, I just wanted to rant a little.

Yes, you are over-reacting. If you didn't need the $35 for the equipment, then why the crap are you crying over $5?

IF you did what you thought was right, and you truly wanted to help out, then you did your part. The rest is up to him. If he chooses not to follow through on his word, (which is a chance you take), be proud of yourself for being the bigger man.

Bingo!!! You need to move on, life is waaaay to short to dwell on the negative. He will have opportunities to do the right thing sooner or later in his life.
