    6 volt solar charger problem!

How can you tell when one is no longer working? Here's the problem- I found the wires leading to the battery had been pinched and they were literally fried. Can I just put new alligator clips on it and rock on or is there a way to test them? The battery showed 100% so it is still good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I like those spade connections where you can put two spades on one battery posts.Does anyone know where those are available?

Saber, yes you should be able to just put new clips on it and be good to go, however before you do take it outside in the sun and put it on a multi meter tester. If it is putting out 6+ volts then you are good to go.

Refug, you can get those at any auto parts store or Radio Shack.

you can not short out a solar panel. So puting new clips on it will work. If water gets to the panel itself it is trash and you will have to buy a new one.
