Idea for keeping coons out of my feeders

Just a thought I had, wondering what you guys think or do... I'm gonna get a bunch of those carpet strips and cinch them up around the feeder poles to keep them critters out of the spinner. It won't stop it completly I don't think but it might help.

It may slow 'em down, but I bet you still get plenty of T/C pics with they hanging from the motor box.

Did that, they just use it to get a better grip.

A large varmint cage so big that they can not even think about reaching the spinner plate

                  Or a spot light and a .22

Mount your legs to the center section of your barrel, then they can't reach anything.

If you use a 55 gallon drum go here http://www.westtexasgamefeeders.com/index.html and order a custom varmint guard similar to what you see here. $30 and...all your problems will be solved....

We have tried the carpet tacks and it didn't stop them.....the best option is to trap them from around the feeders and get rid of them....you can cut the numbers down pretty quickly......

I have heard that if you open up a can of vienna weiners pour out the juice and pour in anti freeze and place them in your feeder pen. Will help to keep them off your feeder.

I switched all mine over to winch up feeders, homemade with a wider stance so they have a really hard time getting to the motor/timer... Works really well, I get pictures of them on the ground but very, very rarely get pics of them anywhere on the feeder...

Yep...solid deterent is the key......Since I trapped and killed 22 of them and then placed coon cages on mine, this is one of the only pics I have of coons. I'd say it pretty much sums up the success of solid deterents...
