Road side bucks with heads cut off

Maybe people are cutting the heads off of very large bodied does and I shouldn't ask

But I noticed a few heads cut off bucks that were hit by cars on the side of the road. Why? What do people do with them?

Not to mention the ones down by the river....

I don’t know what they do with them, but it’s not legal!

I know it's not legal. I just can't imagine stopping and trying to cut a bucks head off on side of the road LOL But it appears to be done a lot.

I hear Game Wardens are doing it? Not sure of reasons.

It's fairly easy as long as your knife is sharp. Cut hide and meat down to bone then twist off. Takes less than 2 minutes. I mean, I'd imagine it was that fast...

Its game wardens or the regional wildlife biologist, they do it for testing for CWD.

GWs like to hang them in their garages after using them for entrapment. :-)

Maybe getting them for Rattling horns?

The deer I saw had orange flagging tied to it and head cut off. Every deer in Lamar co I saw dead on side of road last week. Assumed it was TPW.

Probably getting them mounted and making up a great story as to how they killed them! I saw a few roadkills in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago missing their heads.
