I have been playing cat and mouse with this buck for 2 years and 6 encounters but the lord was on my side this am.
First off I posted on another thread with how this tank of a buck went missing for over 6 weeks and in my mind he was chasing does or had been killed, when he finally returned I didn't recognize him as he lost all his size. I was amazed at how skinny he looked. Over the past few days I had a few encounters with him but never got a good look at him until this am. I finally was able to get a good shot on the buck after noticing he had a broke bottom leg. I guess he hurt it from being hung up in a fence, trap or something else, I know this probably contributed to the dramatic weight loss. He came In and I noticed he was dragging his front leg and I decided it was the time. I got to say I love these gravedigger broadheads as the buck ran maybe 15 yards. Unfortunately where he fell I was blocked by trees and never saw him fall, so after a long hr wait and million scenarios running through my head as I thought I hit him way high, I went to look at the arrow and there he was. Not my biggest buck ever but im very proud of him for many reasons, mainly because he has out smarted me for 2 years and also because I know he may have been suffering some. There are alot of highs and lows in the sport of bowhunting but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Pic comparison are from Oct 3rd and other was this week
