New Toy - restoration time [emoji4]

After allot of begging lol I finally scooped up this beautiful 94’ diesel 7.3 with only 200k miles on her. Plan to strip it down and rebuild back to showroom condition then use as a work truck at our metal shop.
    Plans:
Replace clutch and carrier bearing (already begun)
Remove flat bed, blast and repaint plus weld up a few dings.
Clean up frame and spray with under body coating
Replace hood and get a full Maaco makeover
    Replace grill and lights
Cut old bumper mounts off correctly so they don’t show (old bumper was welded on lol)
    New upholstery
    New dash
    New mirrors

That’s my list for now will keep the thread updated.

Great find, I love the old 7.3. Be sure to check the dual mass flywheel for wear. If you can feel slack in it by hand it is bad. There are springs in between the two plates. And be careful if you replace the water pump. The top two bolts may be a different lengths with different pumps. If you put too long of bolts you will damage the injection pump.

I just went through the same thing with a 2003. I keep finding little things to do but man I like that truck.

So far the clutch and bearing are the only issues. It was a daily drive up until a year ago. It’s at a mechanic now for a full diagnosis fingers crossed

                Don't forget the mud flaps.
