    Hogster Thermal

Anyone using rechargeable 123 batteries with the Hogster thermal?? I’ve been using an external battery pack, which works great and last all night for hunt but it’s inconvenient when you want to detach and use as scanner. Considering getting another thermal and using this as a back up scanner/scope but would like some rechargeable batteries that last..

I’ve read where they can over charge and cause damage to the scope, just looking for answers from guys that have used rechargeable batteries and how long they actually last.. TIA

Yep I use them with no issues. You just need to change the setting on the scope to 3.7.

What brand do you run? I have never had luck with any rechargable batteries including 123's in devices that draw quite a bit of power.

I bought a hand-held scanner for this reason--sure beats taking the scope on and off or waving the rifle around.

I run regular 123 batteries in my Hogster 35, but only turn it on when I want a closer look or am ready to shoot. For scanning I use the Sig (base 1X) mounted on a pistol grip. It runs on 123 batteries also.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to order me some rechargeable batteries and see how they do.
