Do you trap coons during deer season?

Keep metal foot traps set year round. Use tuna or chili. Deer don't pay them any attention and come in with dead or live coons in them.

Is that a hammer timed feeder mounted straight to the feeder? Did you make some type of adapter plate?

All year, as soon as you stop they’re back in full force. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched a coon caught in a trap and the deer pay no attention to them. If you’re concerned about mercy shots just carry a good stick instead of wasting ammo.

I trapped hard all summer on 130 acres to save corn, protein and turkeys.
Caught 65 this year . . . So far. Plus skunks and possums.
I will start again after season.

          Live traps and DPs.

Yes. My place is covered up with them. I started using a dog proof coon trap instead of the live trap and it is a game changer! 6 more to go. I might go buy more traps tomorrow to speed this along

Dispatch them with a club to the head. Quiet and no less humane.

Yes. We have been baiting dog proof traps with sardines, at our feeders. It doesn’t seem to affect the deer at all.

Easily dispatched with my PCP air gun... no noise...

First year I started this, (when those pics were taken), I had 2 dozen traps and took out over 150 coons...

Weser them all season at feeders. Hasn’t messed with the deer at all. For the guys using tuna etc you can use marshmallows and still catch a bunch of coins but not all the skunks

Same here. Trap some, they're gone for awhile, before you know it, more appear. Makes you wonder where they keep coming from.

That photo could have come from my place. I haven't had time to trap except for once. Otherwise, I'd trap until they stopped showing up.
