There's been a running joke around camp for years that my oldest son is a lucky charm to have in the blind. He's been coming to the lease with me since he was 4. Seems like every time he sits with me, my dad, or one of my brothers, something dies.
He is a great hunting buddy. Helps out with feeders and around camp. He is always very quiet in the blind and helps watch for deer. Saturday morning he was with me and we had a good 8 point come out checking does just before 1st light. Watched him for what seemed like forever waiting on better light to get a good look at him. Once the sun started coming up, I knew. Our lucky charm has struck again. I eased my gun out the window and waited for him to take 2 steps to clear a tree. My old .30-06 barked and he dropped DRT. It was all smiles and high fives in the blind.
Going back Thanksgiving to get him on a cull or a big doe.
