I have been using the Mavericks ET-732 for a long, long time... I also have the ET-733. They have been great thermos for my BBQ hobby. Seem to remember that they have stepped up the models since then. For the money its hard to beat them or the ThermoPros ....I gave my brother one of them (a 500FT) just to see how they'd last and he's had good luck with it for the year as has my neighbor. Honestly they look like Maverick internals with a fancier outside. Whatever you chose, just take good care of your probes and they'll last a long time. No dunking the probes in water to clean. Clean with a scraper and wipe down with a clorox wipe or damp rag.

That's a big reason I've stuck with the wired units that send out a signal to a remote. Well that and they are paid for and working fine.
Nothing else hooks to my phone. If I'm not withing 30 yards of the pit I'm on the lake while food cooks with little cell service much less wifi

Now, these are wired probes that go from meat to a control unit. The cintrol unti connects to wifi.
Now, if what you have is not broken and fits your need, no need to spend the money to upgrade.
