Our unit only has 2 roads (1 short and 1 super long) and a gate for each one. Pretty overgrown and they said they just cut roads recently. can’t see far without elevation. We did some tromping around and bumped a pig but so thick he just hunkered down and let us pass. Blinds in this unit are on the water ponds so will sit it out and see if sambar come to play. Lots of mast on these shin oaks this year so plenty of food for WT deer in the thick stuff.

If any TBHers are in the compartment with blinds 3,4,7 thats where I hunted. I can help with where we had most game located. Left multiple sambar stags on the last day and even sent a message to staff that if any hunter was still struggling to find one, send them to the pin.

We’ve seen 7-8 axis so far
A couple Sambar
And a handful of whitetail between the three of us.

I put one down range on an axis doe at 200+ yards and made a clean miss. Was shooting off a wobbly barbed wire fence. Hoping for redemption.

Sitting in blinds this evening.

Good luck guys, I’m sitting here 288 miles NW of y’all in Concho County watching my two trails. Also have a view of a big wheat field that is full of deer.
