maybe turn it off when you leave/turn it on when you arrive, unless it does other things like keeping a water trough filled.

Thanks for taking the time to reply but that’s not an option.

It’s all fixed already. Man y’all are on it with these great ideas!

            Could be interesting. Much cheaper.

You could use Arduino/mini computer with flow sensor and auto cut off valve.

I just don't know how good the "hobby" type sensor are.

That was my concern. A lot of the “pro” model valve motors are garbage. Even that Flo thing has crap reviews on longevity. And a 1 year warranty. Apparently they fail at 1 year 2 months.

There’s one that’s real nice looking called Phyn, (pronounced fin), that looks promising but it’s expensive too. I guess it costs money to play the game.

I wonder if it's worth spending $500 when a leak like that cost like $10 in electricity to run solid for a week. I suppose you could put a timer on the well pump to only allow it to run a few hours a day then override to as needed when you are there.

I honestly don’t care about the electricity. I was afraid it was gonna burn up my well pump running solid for several days. The plus side is the grass looks great where it flooded.

But that is a good point. Our well pump’s rated for continuous duty? If so, I’m not near as worried.
